The 1911 Revolution is an important milestone in the history of China. It brought an end not only to over 200 years of the Qing dynasty, but also to two millennia of imperial rule. As it entered this new era, the nation underwent epoch-making changes in the fields of politics, society, economy and education.
To celebrate the centenary of the 1911 Revolution, the Museum has organised this exhibition of about 100 philatelic souvenirs featuring various revolutionary leaders and devotees. Commemorating their efforts in overthrowing the Qing dynasty and founding the Chinese republic, these stamps and covers salute their noble sacrifices they made for their country and compatriots.
