From 16 April to 7 July 2010
Special Exhibition Gallery, UG/F
Built in 1914, Kom Tong Hall was the former residence of Hong Kong magnate Ho Kom Tong. Assessed by the Antiquities Advisory Board as a Grade I historic building, it today houses the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum.
To introduce the architectural features of Kom Tong Hall as well as exhibits related to the building's history, the museum is now hosting the "History and Conservation of Kom Tong Hall" exhibition.
By selecting and showcasing another group of items from our collections that were either used within Kom Tong Hall or owned by Ho Kom Tong himself, including an Officer of the Order of St. John and a Knight of Grace of the Order of St. John presented to Ho Kom Tong by King George V of Britain, Ho's folding binoculars and a travel cookware set, etc., we hope that visitors will gain a greater appreciation of this magnificent and historic building.
